Smida is located in the heart of Apuseni Natural Park, about 90 kilometers from Cluj-Napoca.
During the festival we will provide public transportation options, with regular round-trips between Cluj-Napoca and Smida.
It takes about 90 minutes to travel the 90 kilometers from Cluj-Napoca to Smida. The journey on road E60/DN1 will take you through Huedin, Călata, Mărgău, Răchițele, Doda Pilii and finally Smida. We encourage you to use the public transport we provide. Also, for those of you who want to enjoy the beauty of the region, we recommend you an alternate route, which is used for an annual car race, through Călățele, Dealul Negru, Beliș, Bălcești, Dealul Botii, which leads to Răchițele, and from there you just follow Doda Pilii and finally Smida.
The closest train station is Huedin and from there you can take a bus to Răchițele.
We encourage you to ride a bike or a motor-bike, as there are plenty of off-road routes.
Oradea International Airport and Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport are the closest ones.
Right by the festival's location, we will set up a camping area with all necessary facilities (toilettes, washers, showers, etc).

Close to the festival's location, there will be a guarded parking space.
Next to the festival's location, we will set up a camping area with full facilities: toilettes, washers, showers, lighting, security. To use the camping area you can either buy a 55 Ron 3-day pass HERE, or you can purchase a 15 Ron single-day ticket at the festival.
Our partners will offer a wide range of dishes, including vegetarian/vegan options.
We will set up bars where you will be able to order from a wide range of drinks.
This particular list of terms is applicable for the Smida Jazz Festival, 2018 edition, organized by the Transylvanian Cultural Development Association in collaboration with Smiro Activ Ltd, here on out called the Organizer, and includes all the rules and terms that need to be followed by all people attending the festival.
1.1. Access will be open starting Friday, august 17th, 14:00, both in the camping area and the festival grounds.
1.2. The single-day ticket ensures access till noon the following day.
1.3. Kids younger than 14 will be granted free access to the festival, upon inspection of their birth certificate. Kids 14 years old and older will pay the normal ticket price.
1.4. Local people who live in Smida, Giurcuta de Sus, Giurcuta de Jos, Poiana Horea, Doda Pilii and Ic Ponor will be granted free access to the festival, upon inspection of their personal ID card.
1.5. People with disabilities are granted free access to the festival, along with their caretaker, based on ID and proving papers. Please send an email to email@example.com with the name of the two people.
1.6. Full-passes and single-day tickets will be turned in for access bracelets at the Check-in point, and access to the festival grounds will be done through the special access gates based on bracelets alone.
1.7. Any purchase on the festival grounds (food, drinks, books, merchandise) will be done with Tokens only. These can be purchased from selling points located on the festival grounds, using cash or card. Cigarettes and tobacco products are the only exception to this rule, these can only be paid for by by card. Tokens are not refundable.
1.8. All areas in the festival - the actual festival grounds, the camping area, the parking area, food court, etc - are created with a purpose. Please make sure you use these areas for their designated purpose. Please make sure you access the festival through the specially designated access area.
1.9. Since the festival area is a protected one, people attending the festival must show a great deal of respect and responsibility towards the environment.
1.10. Separate containers will be used for waste disposal. Please make sure you use the right container for each type of waste, as they will be clearly marked.
1.11. It is forbidden to enter the festival grounds with food and any kind of drinks.
1.12. Access will be allowed only with water in sealed bottles.
1.13. Access to the festival is not allowed with luggage pieces in excess of 30L. All bags will be searched at the entry point.
1.14. The Organizer allows access to the festival with foldable chairs. Pets are allowed as well, as long as they are under strict owner supervision and the owners will take full responsibility for their pets.
1.15. Any found objects must be brought to the Info Point, where the Organizer will keep them safely for the duration of the festival. Lost items can be claimed at the Info Point until august 20th, 14:00. After this, any remaining lost items can be claimed back in Cluj-Napoca city.
1.16. Use of drugs is punishable according to Romanian law.
1.17. Using fire is strictly forbidden.
1.18. It is allowed to enter the festival with DSLR cameras.
1.19. Taking pictures of concerts is only allowed during the first 3 songs performed by each group.
1.20. Taking pictures using flash is forbidden.
1.21. Taking pictures of bands during their soundcheck is forbidden.
1.22. The Organizer, its partners and the accredited media have the right to take pictures and conduct video recordings of the festival. Participants will acknowledge the fact that they might appear in such pictures or video recordings, and will under no circumstance have any copy-right claims over these materials. The Organizer has the right to use these materials, to distribute them thorugh various channels and use them for promotion purposes.
2.1. All passes and single-day tickets will be turned in for access bracelets at the Check-In point, and access will only be made through the specially designated access area, and only based on these bracelets.
2.2. Single-day tickets allow acces within the camping area until noon the next day.
2.3. Kids younger than 14 will be granted free access to the festival, upon inspection of their birth certificate. Kids 14 years old and older will pay the normal ticket price.
2.4. People with disabilities are granted free access to the festival, along with their caretaker, based on ID and proving papers. Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the name of the two people.
2.5. It is allowed to enter the camping area with food and water, but only in sealed containers.
2.6. It is not allowed to enter the camping area with alcoholic beverages.
2.7. Fire and gas instalations are strictly forbidden.
2.8. Tents will be set up only in the special areas clearly designated and marked by the Organizer.
2.9. The camping area will be guarded, but the Organizer will claim no reponsibility for stolen or damaged items.
2.10. Pets are welcome in the camping area.
3.1. Car access in the specially designated parking area will be done upon payment of the parking fee.
3.2. The parking ticket can only be used for one entry. Once the Organizer has marked the parking ticket, no refund can be possible, regardless of the amount of time spent in the parking area.
3.3. To ensure optimal usage of space in the parking area, vehicles will be parked following the Organizer's instructions.
3.4. The Organizer does not take responsibility for any cars parked in the parking area, nor for any of the items in the cars.
